Nature folders and covers are made in cardboard or raw board. Raw board is a common term for the slightly thicker cardboard qualities which are suitable for folders and covers, without binding or protecting the cardboard in some way – the cardboard can stand being raw.

Covers in raw board are often used for case folders, thus they are typically made with several flaps and an elastic closing mechanism.
Our lining charteques are a special kind of cover where the cover made from Manila paper has welded an extra cover in clear PP foil onto it.
The covers are available as “flat”, i.e has no depth or as wider covers with e.g. a 10 mm depth. In this way, it becomes easier to find on the shelf.
If you desire a more sturdy folder or bag with long service life and unmistakable quality, thicker card board equipped with handles and fasteners is often used.
Raw board is well-suited for bound pages for wire-o bound notebooks, calendars or pocket folders.
The qualities range from 250 gr. cardboard to a 2.000 gr. very compact, smooth raw board.
Which qualities to be used for a given folder or cover depends on what the purpose of the product is and what requirements there for durability and in which environments the product is to be used.
The concept of finishing covers the possibilities for adding the cover or folder an additional finish or a graphic effect, e.g. by adding silk screen or offset print. One variation of this could be to do a partial UV varnish (matte or glossy) which can give very spectacular results.
Another option is digital printing. A third possibility is blind embossing or embossing with foil colors. Finally, it is also possible to give most board qualities a lining, which extends the life while it looks good.
