Flex folders and covers are welded in soft PVC foils or in a combination of soft and hard foils which are suitable for printing and embossing. It is strong covers and folders made to be used. Soft PVC is a very tough material made to be used in wet and dirty environments.
It is also possible to make foils that can withstand use in environments where the temperature is below freezing.
Today all our PVC foils are free from phthalate plasticizers, and is thus environmentally much better than they were a few years ago.

The most common sizes fit content in A4 and A5. But do you need a small folder or folders that need to fit in your pocket or purse, we can make that as well.

Most people know the covers used for bus or train pass. It is basically the most simple Flex cover, where the outer surface is a colored foil and the inside consisting of two clear pockets. Flex cover can be varied in number of ways, for example with cardboard or rigid foil welded into the pages so that the cover is more rigid. It can also be welded with a printed insert under a layer of clear foil.
Clear pockets can be welded into the back of a cover to a pocket folder, where it is possible to replace the contents of the pockets.
Soft PVC foil is particularly suitable for book covers for manuals and the likes, which must be able to withstand wear from your pocket and be used both indoors and outdoors.
The soft PVC foils, which are characteristic for the Flex folders and covers, are available in numerous colors and variations. From the completely smooth foil to a thick soft foil with a soft surface and on to films that resemble leather, snakeskin, wood, corrugated sheet metal, or…
Yes… the possibilities are endless.
It is also possible to produce Flex folders and covers in PP foil, but the range of foil qualities are severely limited in terms of the availability of foils in PVC.
The concept of finishing covers the options for adding the binder an additional finish or a graphic effect.
One option is to use silk screen printing or emboss foil colors directly onto the foil on the folder or cover sides and back (the soft, foamed foils show great results with depth embossing with or without emboss foil). Another possibility is to combine different foils and foil colors. A third option is to weld pockets onto the folder or cover or make “windows” in the folder or cover.
A forth possibility is to ad on a reflective foil (used mostly for bus and train pass).
